MAKEUP and hair
Much like the other artistic disciplines Jacinta specialises in, makeup application and hairstyling have both been crafts Jacinta has respectively honed and practiced for years. Growing up, she would sit for hours braiding her hair as well as styling her friends. Jacinta’s affinity towards experimentation with hair and makeup naturally grew from her creative expression as an illustrator and sculptor. She began experimenting with body and face paint to incorporate into makeup looks too. From there, her passion to work with prosthetics and Special FX makeup began.
Nowadays, Jacinta incorporates her hair and makeup talents in a professional context as well as for her own leisure. Her favourite thing about being a hair and makeup artist is helping people feel and look confident. Whether it’s for an event, Halloween, or for films or theatre pieces, Jacinta also loves any opportunity to create new characters or even creatures!
Special FX
Jacinta has had the joy of creating and executing special FX makeup looks for various staged performances and films.
This year, she has overseen the makeup and hair department for Live Lines Productions’ debut show and short film I’ll Be Fine. In 2025 she was also been the special FX makeup artist for the short film My X’s Boyfriend. In addition to creating bloodied up looks, Jacinta was also tasked with creating a makeshift squib to squirt fake blood. This task involved Jacinta’s development and experimentation to create varying fake blood formulas to create different colours and consistencies to be used throughout the film.
