WARDROBE
DEPARTMENT
Growing up, Jacinta loved playing dress-ups, and with a mother who was a costume manufacturer, this became a common occurrence. She learnt how to sew from a very early age and as she got older, she’d always jump at the chance to help her mum make costumes. She then went on to study textiles throughout school.
To this day, Jacinta’s passion is what drives her success in costume manufacturing, designing, sourcing and styling. She is always thrilled to join the wardrobe department on productions and oversees the process from early pre-production right through to distribution, whether it be for stage or screen. She also often allows her talents to intersect by either being part of or working closely with the hair and makeup department to ensure every look is coherent.
Recently, Jacinta has been the costume designer and buyer for Live Lines Productions, an upcoming arts company which hosts audience-immersive life drawing nights through incorporating live theatre. She has also been head of department for The Party, the pilot episode for Bear Tiger Production’s upcoming television series. For Ripple Production’s I’ll Be Fine, she especially enjoyed curating and sourcing all the looks for a scene within the film where the actors performed Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Jacinta enjoys playing with shape, texture and colour, particularly through film to create visually striking looks that help bring the story and characters to life.
Featured below are a series of costume looks she curated and styled for the film.
