MAKEUP and hair

Much like the other artistic disciplines Jacinta specialises in, makeup application and hairstyling have both been crafts Jacinta has respectively honed afor years. Jacinta’s affinity towards experimentation with hair and makeup naturally grew from her creative expression as an illustrator and sculptor. She began experimenting with body and face paint to incorporate into makeup looks too. From there, her passion to work with prosthetics and Special FX makeup began.

Nowadays, Jacinta designs and executes hair and makeup looks for private and formal events, fashion runways, modelling shoots, theatre productions, film productions and television productions.

Special FX

Jacinta has had the joy of creating and executing special FX makeup looks for various staged performances and films.

This year, she has overseen the makeup and hair department for Live Lines Productions’ debut show and short film I’ll Be Fine. In 2025 she was also been the special FX makeup artist for the short film My X’s Boyfriend. In addition to creating bloodied up looks, Jacinta was also tasked with creating a makeshift squib to squirt fake blood. This task involved Jacinta’s development and experimentation to create varying fake blood formulas to create different colours and consistencies to be used throughout the film.

Featured below is a glimpse into Jacinta’s hair and makeup portfolio for looks she has both designed and executed. Featured looks include for fashion events, photoshoots, films, theatre pieces, personal projects and formal events.

THE CURSE

To create “The Creature” Jacinta was tasked with creating a look inspired by mummification but applying it in a more modern context. This look was creating using bandages Jacinta hand-dyed with tea and coffee. She also created her own makeup pigments from organic sources available to her whilst shooting in rural Italy. The corset itself was hand wrapped onto the actor and each shoot day took 4+ hours to apply the face and body makeup and assemble the costume onto the body.

Jacinta’s craft often involves innovative approaches to create unique and unforgettable looks.

WARDROBE

In her recent manufacturing work, Jacinta created the head pieces and wings for Miss Nepal’s national costume and the head dress for Miss Australia’s national costume for the 2025 Miss Scuba International Pageant in Malaysia.

Jacinta also assisted with costume design and manufacturing for both contestants’ dresses.

Growing up, Jacinta loved playing dress-ups, and with a mother who was a costume manufacturer, this became a common occurrence. She learnt how to sew from a very early age and as she got older, she’d always jump at the chance to create costumes.

To this day, Jacinta’s passion is what drives her success in costume manufacturing, designing, sourcing and styling. She is always thrilled to join the wardrobe department on productions and oversees the process from early pre-production right through to distribution, whether it be for stage or screen. She also often allows her talents to intersect by either being part of or working closely with the hair and makeup department to ensure every look is coherent.

Recently, Jacinta has been the costume designer and buyer for Live Lines Productions, an upcoming arts company which hosts audience-immersive life drawing nights through incorporating live theatre. She has also been head of department for The Party, the pilot episode for Bear Tiger Production’s upcoming television series. For Ripple Production’s I’ll Be Fine, she especially enjoyed curating and sourcing all the looks for a scene within the film where the actors performed Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Jacinta enjoys playing with shape, texture and colour, particularly through film to create visually striking looks that help bring the story and characters to life.

Featured below are a series of costume looks she curated and styled for the film.
