SYNOPSIS

After Lenny gets unexpectedly broken up with, he starts to suspect that his ex-girlfriend was cheating on him, leading him down a rabbit hole to find the truth.

Whilst acting is Jacinta’s passion, she also jumps at any opportunity to be behind the camera too!

On this project, she had a blast being a producer as well as head of the art department.

Her roles allowed her to oversee tasks like managing and liaising with locations, creating some art and props for the film, creating special FX looks, assisting with camera operations, and managing all BTS footage and photography content.

Jacinta also had the pleasure of jumping in for a scene as an extra too. She’s so grateful for fun projects like this where she gets to work with such an incredible team whilst contributing through various forms of expertise.

special fx makeup

Amidst her other roles, Jacinta created and executed some special FX makeup looks for this awesome project. There were two main looks and both were very bloody.

In addition to this, she was also tasked with designing and manufacturing a makeshift version of a squib - a machine that could remotely explode blood everywhere. It had to look gruesome but also as realistic as possible.

After much deliberation, she came up with a design using medical tubing and got to work experimenting with making fake blood with different textures, consistencies and colours. She also used the same different types of fake blood to build each makeup look to be as realistic as possible. Some of the mixtures were edible as well so the actors could spit out blood.

Jacinta also had the pleasure of shooting the film’s poster image. She aimed to capture the protagonist’s deep need for connection, through focusing on really salient images filled with lots of colour yet tension. In the end, this ended up being the final pick!
